Premier League Darts Week 4 Preview

Simon Whitlock v Phil Taylor

You wouldn’t have thought that this match would be last vs 2nd last, with both Whitlock and Taylor win-less. It is almost lights out for the loser. Whitlock has been slowly improving since his dreadful start, while Taylor is creeping back towards his best. Sadly for our man, the Wizard, this will be a tough game for him to win. The crowd should be on the Aussie’s side, but The Power is the tip.

Michael van Gerwen v Raymond van Barneveld

Game 4 is a Dutch duel. MVG is undefeated on top of the league, while Barney has been brilliant or bust. Can Van Barneveld knock over his fellow countryman and go equal with him on the ladder? He’ll have to play like he did in week 1. Barney struggled during the week with a couple of lowly UK Open Qualifier losses, whereas Van Gerwen was on fire. You can’t tip against him.

Dave Chisnall v Gary Anderson

Chisnall took the fight to MVG last week, but fell short at key moments to lose match. If he plays like that he should have Anderson covered. However, Anderson had a great week at the UK Open qualifiers, winning one of the days. Chisnall was not so good. The crowd will be right behind Gary. But Chisnall is gaining good momentum in the Premier League and I can’t help but feel like he will overcome Gary and the crowd to win this.
